COMPASS also clearly formulates our path to decarbonization. Its consistent implementation is reflected in numerous measures within the Prinzhorn Group in 2023. With an investment volume of 250 million euros, we were able to achieve a particularly positive effect on the CO2 footprint of our production by building an RDF power plant in Spremberg and renewing energy production from lignite to a gas turbine in Pitten. Together with other measures, like the installation of solar panels at various locations, these steps significantly contribute to meeting our decarbonization targets.

Our commitment to manufacturing products from recycled paper presents a viable alternative to fossil-based and non-renewable materials. This enables us to support our customers across the value chain, particularly those in the retail sector, in lowering their embedded carbon dioxide emissions. Consequently, our actions can have a substantial positive impact on the environment while offering society climate-friendly alternatives.
